Career Progression

At King’s Group you will have many opportunities for career progression and promotion.

As a Group, we are committed to promoting from within and welcome internal applications from staff who aspire to positions of greater responsibility within the organisation. We have a transparent recruitment process for all posts advertised.

Through our performance management processes, development programmes and talent management systems we are able to identify those who show potential and ambition and could assume responsibility posts within the Group. As an organisation with locations across Europe and Central America and with ambitious plans to open elsewhere in the world, we are also able to offer opportunities to staff who would like to gain further experience in other countries.

Kirsty Sharp, Headteacher
King’s College, Frankfurt
I moved to King’s College, Soto de Viñuelas in 2013 to be Deputy Head of Primary. As a college from 20 months to 18 years with around 700 in Primary my role was both challenging and rewarding.

My skills as a leader were developed through mentorship and coaching. In addition I gained many new skills working closely with Secondary colleagues and in the College as a whole.

When the position as Head of King’s Infant School was advertised in February 2015 it was my line manager that actually suggested I should apply. At first I was unsure about applying as I was enjoying the challenges brought by my then role, I worked with a fantastic team, the students were a delight and the parents were very supportive.

After some serious thought I applied for the position and after a rigorous interview process I was delighted to be appointed Headteacher of King’s Infant School.

Since then, I am now on my second Headship within the Group, as I am currently the founding Headteacher of one of the newest schools in the Group, King’s College Frankfurt.

Whilst all the schools I have worked at in King’s are different, different location, different size, different age groups, there are many similarities; all have a fantastic team, amazing pupils and supportive parents.

Sean Corrigan, Head of School Development
King’s Group Central Services

I first joined King’s Group as an intern during my Erasmus year abroad programme while studying at Aston Business School, Aston University. During this year I worked in Madrid at King’s College in Soto de Viñuelas and I also spent a small amount of time at King’s College School in La Moraleja. I was also fortunate to spend some time in Tenbury House and experience

Life as a “houseparent”.
I returned to the UK to complete my degree and after graduating I re-joined King’s Group as the Group’s Data Manager based in the Central Services offices. I now support the Group’s schools across Spain, the UK, Germany and Panama.

King’s Group has provided me with plenty of opportunities for personal development and growth.

It was great to return to an organisation that I knew so well and be surrounded by enthusiastic colleagues with the pupils’ best interests at heart.

If you are ready to make a difference, then you are ready for King’s.
